Museum of Fine Arts

What is it?

Seville's Museum of Fine Arts, inexplicably little visited, is housed in the 16th-century Convent of La Merced, and its high-ceilinged galleries are arranged around elegant courtyards. It is filled with remarkable Spanish paintings and sculptures from the 15th to 20th centuries.

Why go?

This is one of the largest fine art museums in Spain, and its extensive collection includes works by artists such as El Greco, Velázquez and Murillo. Take a break in the charming courtyard with a small boxwood maze.
